Quality Control Management
ECI works closely with Quality Control Management
at our clients' plants. Quality control is an integral part
of every successful manufacturing facility, and ECI's Integrated
Process Control System is recognized by many quality control
management veterans as one of the most complete and thorough
approach to quality control management available.
Our Integrated Process Control System (IPCS)
addresses quality control from start to finish. At the beginning
of the assembly line, every unit is given a unique serial
number and bar code, so that all tests and parameters can
be logged to the database and retrieved for quality control
management analysis. As the unit moves down the line, units
are tested in stages to control quality, and key components
are scanned as well so that vendors can be held accountable
for their quality control as well.
At the end of the production line, ECI recommends
a full-function automated quality
test that insures that your customers receive only quality,
functioning product. Our IPCS goes one step further with
our shipping "watchdog" principle.
The Shipping “Watchdog” Principle
is best exemplified by ECI’s PackOut™
Integrated Quality Control System. PackOut™ the
ECI Watchdog guarantees that consumers receive the best
quality product manufacturers can provide. Manufacturers
who embrace the Watchdog Principle have the highest regard
for quality control management. An all-encompassing crosscheck
through all processes, PackOut is the final assurance that
each unit has passed all previous quality control tests.
No defect gets through. Electrical interlocks prohibit final
packing and shipping until all tests have been passed. For
instance, if the Watchdog detected that a unit bypassed
a final leak test, the shrink wrapping machine would refuse
to work for that serial number. This gives the consumer
a consistent level of quality --guaranteed.
When ECI first introduced the Watchdog principle
to our clients, we faced some resistance by operators who
were concerned about meeting daily quotas. But as quality
control management noticed the significant drop in warranty
claims, it was mandated in no uncertain terms that the ECI
Watchdog could not be bypassed. Our customers have informed
us that, with the aid of the ECI IPCS, they consistently
approach zero D.O.A.'s (Dead on Arrivals) and have dramatically
reduced warranty claims.
To further enhance the usefulness of the IPCS
in manufacturers' quality control management plans, ECI
provides detailed reporting utilities in our software. For

a Production monitoring software utility used by quality
control management wishing to view the details and line
status of each assembly line running InterLink™. With
ProMonitor you can collect data from every integrated station
and know what tests have been run, how many units have passed,
first pass rates, station utilization, takt times, production
